03Most builders hand you a score and hope you don't ask how. Here is exactly what ours measures — and what it doesn't.
Deterministic, not a guess
The same resume and the same job always produce the same score. It's computed in code you can re-run — never a number an AI invented and can't explain.
We read the real PDF
We render the actual file you'll send, extract its text the way a parser does, and score that — not the editor preview. If a layout hides a line from the machine, you find out before a recruiter's software does.
Template-aware
Single-column designs parse cleanly everywhere; multi-column ones can be reordered by a strict parser. We flag that honestly instead of stamping every template 'ATS-safe'.
Modeled on how real ATS parse
Our rules follow how systems like Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, iCIMS and Taleo actually read a resume — single-column reading order, current-title weighting, section detection. We don't claim a certification we don't have; we align with documented parsing behavior.
What it won't do: inflate your score with keywords you can't back up, or invent metrics you never achieved. It reports what's there — you decide.
ATS Checker — Frequently asked questions
Is the ATS score included in my plan?+
The ATS analysis is part of the Pro and Limited plans. You paste a job posting and get your score, missing keywords, and actionable suggestions right inside the editor.
How does the checker work?+
Inside the editor you paste a job posting; ReadyCVV compares your resume against the keywords, structure and signals most ATS platforms (Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, Taleo) look for. Scoring is deterministic and explained per category.
Is my data safe?+
Yes. Your resume lives in your ReadyCVV account; the analysis runs on your own data and we don't share it with third parties.
Will a perfect score guarantee an interview?+
No. A high ATS score means recruiters' software is more likely to surface your resume to a human. The interview decision is made by people based on relevance and storytelling.
